Description
The RangeExtender is used to establish a wireless data connection between the MikroKopter and a computer, a tablet, a smartphone, etc.
It can be used for Waypoint flight and other telemetry applications.
The smartphones and tablets can be connected to the RangeExtender via the Bluetooth interface.
A computer can also use the USB interface as serial interface.
Thanks to the 915MHz link that is used between the MikroKopter and the RangeExtender, large range distances can be covered (for instance: between 1000 and 2500 meters under good conditions).
The RangeExtender can be used with several applications (MK-Tool for the PC via USB, Dubwise for SmartPhone via Bluetooth,...)
In addition, the RangeExtender is needed for our Android Tablet-Tool (MKTT). In the tablet firmware the ID of the RangeExtender is used to unlock some software features (loading and saving of waypoints etc).
The RangeExtender is foreseen with an NiMH battery that has a low self-discharge rate. This means that the RangeExtender can work without additional power supply over a longer period (about 5-8 hours).
When the battery is low, a sound signal warns the user.
The RangeExtender needs a Power on the USB-Port for charging (PC, Laptop or an external power supply)
